All Aboard: Quick and Easy Roster Uploads

Welcome to the fifth post in our series exploring how Jawnt’s strong client relationships inform our platform and improve transit benefits. Jawnt is proud to provide transit benefits to employers of all sizes, and we know our administrators need more than one-size-fits all solutions. If a university, hospital, or other corporation is already set up with formal HR and payroll systems, we’ve got them covered with a variety of HRIS integration options. But we’ve found that most organizations start off tracking their employees and payroll in a spreadsheet, and many haven’t felt the need to do more than that, yet. Jawnt has a separate, simple roster uploading process for our spreadsheet-driven employers, too.

Driven by convenience

Starting today, organizations can manually upload their CSV rosters directly on the People page of the Jawnt platform.

Each time you upload your roster, you can choose to send invitation emails to the Jawnt platform immediately to any new active member.

Not sure how often your headcount will change? Not a problem. If you want to upload your roster once a month, once a quarter, or just whenever you have changes, that works for us!

What information does Jawnt need?

Your roster can be as simple or complex as you need. It just has to include:

  • Employee ID. This can be any text or number, as long as it’s unique for each employee.
  • First name
  • Last name
  • Email
  • Status (either Active or Inactive)

See an example template here. If your roster has more fields, that’s fine, include them! You can decide if you want them visible in the platform or if we should simply skip them on import.

Adopting your language

If you already have a roster, but use different names for these fields, you don’t need to reformat anything for Jawnt. No need to split hairs over “first”, “first_name”, or “given name”... we’ll take them all, and display your choices back to you throughout the platform. Just tell your account manager your preferred field names during onboarding.

Simple, easy to understand error messages

Unexpected errors are part of life, but they’re rare with roster uploads. Maybe there’s a duplicate record, or one of the required fields is blank. We’ll display a simple, easy to follow error report so you can resolve the issue and finish the import. We’ll also send the error report to your email, in case now isn’t a good time and you have other things to do.

However your team manages its roster, we’ll get your employees enrolled and riding transit in no time.
