Bike and Transit Events in 2025

Transportation conferences are more than just an easy way to expand your pen collection. They’re also a great way to meet, learn from, and potentially even collaborate with the people shaping our collective transportation future. These are the transportation gatherings on our horizon for 2025. Did we miss something? Drop us a line: funevents@jawntpass.com.
As certain as the sun rising in the east and automobiles being a major contributor to greenhouse gases, the National Academies once again hosted TRB, the “Super Bowl of Transportation”, in the first week of January in Washington, DC. Our Director of Product Partnerships presented her paper, Landscape Review: Payment Technologies and Employee Commuter Benefits. A summary can be found here.
Transportation superfans usually attend Transportation Camp DC on the Saturday before TRB, hosted by Transportation For America. Unfortunately this year’s event was cancelled due to lack of resources, so please instead enjoy our recap for both 2024 events. And look forward to other regional events being posted throughout the year. We expect to see Transportation Camp New England return in fall 2025 at a minimum.
MarComCX is one of several events from the American Public Transportation Association worth looking into. It focuses on the passenger information side of transit, which includes marketing, customer experience, and employer pass programs.Â
This enormous expo is entirely focused on how to pay for transit. European transit riders have been enjoying more advanced (faster, cheaper, more reliable) payment methods for years, so it’s fitting that we’d have to go across the pond to see what’s coming here next.
The League for American Bicyclists hosts the National Bike Summit every spring in Washington, DC. The event highlights opportunities for lobbying members of the House, as well as sessions and speakers to support the cause.
PeopleForBikes hosts this annual summit. Whether you’re working locally to improve bike facilities in your community, or hoping to plug into national advocacy, or just wanting to learn what’s changed and changing, this event will help you push forward.
APTA’s Mobility Conference is focused on operations: how to get buses and trains to run smoothly, safely, and on time. Our favorite part is the behind-the-scenes technical tours.
The National Association of City Transportation Officials brings together hundreds of planners and planning-minded professionals, focusing on making cities more equitable and sustainable. Their Designing Cities event always highlights tours, led by passionate and expert guides, who offer inspiring examples and challenges.
This stateside version of Transport Ticketing Global is like peering into a crystal ball and seeing how we’ll all be paying for transit in the next 5-10 years. Read our recap of the 2024 event for more.
The Association for Commuter Transportation is the preeminent organization for anyone who wants to help employees travel by any mode other than alone in a car. We’ve written several times about how much we value our membership, and particularly enjoy meeting and learning from so many experts at this banner event. Read about our experience at the 2024 event in Denver.
TRANSform is the technology and product showcase for the largest public transportation organization in the United States. It’s a great place to see the new technology in place and coming soon to a bus near you.
Climate Week NYC is the largest event of its kind and brings together leaders in technology, business, and policy to discuss the future of climate. Topics range from decarbonization to ESG initiatives, and thankfully the events on the website include a tag for “transport.” While some events are invite-only and/or paid, many are free, and it’s an excellent week to learn about broader climate-focused work and network with people who’ve traveled from near and far. Â
Downtowns were the center of our transportation networks before the pandemic, and continue to be the connective hubs of our transportation networks. The IDA is focused on place-making, and transportation plays an important role in bringing people together.
CALACT as an organization is a fierce advocate for the hundreds of transit agencies of all sizes across California, and its fall conference is an invaluable opportunity for those managers and planners to trade updates and learn from each other.Â
Mpact (formerly Rail-Volution), is a very implementation-focused event. Its panels tend to focus on the planners, designers, and policymakers who shape our streets. Jawnt presented on a panel at the 2024 Mpact with our friends and colleagues from SEPTA, the City of Philadelphia, BART, and others, called Creative Fare Policies, and the summary is available here.
Only a bit smaller and lower key than their international conference, the Association for Commuter Transportation’s fall event is focused on research and best practices. Read our recap of the 2024 event in Charlotte, including the bike ride we organized and the micromobility panel one of our team members moderated.
Transportation is only ever half the story, or a means to an end. It’s easier to get people to try transit if they’re moving between dense and walkable areas, or to bike if there are facilities at their destination. This is why we’re including the Greenbuild Expo, because we’re excited to see commercial and residential developers include transportation among their “ground-breaking” topics.
We’ll update this page as more information is made available about the following events.
